Logo mca siteThe Millennium Challenge Account - Cape Verde II (MCA-CV II Managing Director, Helder Santos, signs on February 14, at 4:45 p.m., at the UNICV rectory, located in Plateau, an Implementing Entity Agreement with the University Of Cape Verde.
The two entities agree to develop a partnership to conduct a Special Study on Social and Inclusion Gender under the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Project - WASH. The study will be completed in June 2016 and counts on the university´s  teachers and students participation.
In line with the Cape Verdean Government's guidelines on gender and social integration, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) recommends that analyzes of gender and social inequalities is part of the design, implementation and monitoring of programs funded by it. In this context, under the Second Compact of the MCA-Cape Verde Program, the Water and Sanitation sector in Cape Verde is characterized by high levels of social and gender inequality. Analyzing these inequalities and needs of women, the poor, and other vulnerable groups (the elderly and people with disabilities) is critical to achieving the objectives of the Government and MCC Program on Poverty Reduction and Economic Growth.
